About the Campaign

Now in her senior year, Windy is an early childhood education major who dreams of being a teacher and even a principal some day. She has worked very hard to get here is very near graduation.

Although Windy has three siblings and a twin, she is the first in her family to go to college. Her mother and her father each have 1st grade educations. Her father is the epitome of hard work, working six days a week to care for his family.

Transfering after five years of community college has changed Windy’s belief in herself.

Her story is best understood in her own words:

“I was born and raised in Pasadena, Texas in a family of 6. My parents were born in Mexico and came to the United Stated in their 20’s. Both of my parents have no education further than the 1st grade. My father worked 6 days of the week and my mother was a housewife. Being a twin and the oldest of two sisters to native parents wasn’t easy growing up. I had lowered my standard by 5th grade and graduated from high school with a low GPA. I became a Nanny and started community college.

I have a passion and desire to help children. I would love to pursue my career as a Principal after my undergraduate degree. I have applied myself and seen great results. I would love to share my experience and help other children pursue their goals even when it seems impossible.”
